BIOGRAPHY
WILLIAM H. MACY
Born March 13, 1950 in Miami, Florida.
After the death of her first husband, his mother, Lois Merrill, which had already one son, married William H. Macy, Sr., a hero of the Second World War, Cavalier Cross Distinctions and Medals for piloting Air Force B-17 bomber. The family moved a lot, William Jr., first grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, then in Cumberland, where he graduated from high school. Feedback from fellow students, he was klassichkesky wonk and an A student that did not prevent him from participating in performances of local drama club.
Following in the footsteps of his older brother, he learned to play guitar and even sang in a trio «Minnesingers». But show business was not attracted. William went to college with the intention to become a veterinarian, but could not resist the temptation to participate in student productions. After the summer holidays, William transferred to Goddard College in Vermont, where he took up the study of acting under the direction of David Mamet. Since then, Macy participated in almost all the works of the director, who was fascinated by the young man abilities.
After college, Macy entered the acting troupe formed by Mamet, where he worked for six years, and later moved to the theater Gattriv Minneapolis, and one season later went to New York, where he participated in the off-Broadway productions and earned in advertising on radio. Later, he was again taken under the wing of Mamet, but in 1990, Macy moved to Los Angeles.
Macy actively in films, theater career but he has not scored, and in the US is known more as a theater actor than a movie star.
