The long-awaited continuation of the series was announced on June 11, 2020 at the presentation of the Sony PlayStation 5. The game will retain the first-person view and the general atmosphere of the previous game in the series – Resident Evil 7. At the moment, Resident Evil 8: Village is in development. The release is scheduled for 2021.

The trailer showed snow-covered locations, many characters, among whom were old acquaintances from the previous part – Ethan Winters, Chris Redfield and Mia Winters. New enemies will pose a threat: some witches and creatures resembling werewolves.
