Biography
Xia Linstone, better known under the pseudonym Ian Biao, was born in Nanjing, China.
In childhood he tried to mimic the actors of the Beijing Opera, which he saw. Regular school he hated, and was eventually given to the school of Peking Opera. He was then five years old. In this school he managed to qualify in vstupitelnoe troupe, known as the “7 little lucky”. His colleagues on the company were those who later became known as Jackie Chan and Samo Hung. It was in this troupe of Smiling and acquired the nickname “Ian Biao” (“the tiger Cub yuan”).
In the 1960s, a school teacher, he emigrated with his family to the U.S. in Los Angeles. The theater troupe also went to the United States with demonstrations. After the tour Ian Biao remained in the United States and helped the teacher, but a year later was forced to return to Hong Kong.
