Fascinated as a child car racing, the two brothers decided to bleed from the nose to build your own car. The idea was to create a sports car in the classic style.
The company’s philosophy was to create a car that will just “stick to the road” like a gecko on the wall, hence the corresponding symbols.
A relatively young company for the automotive industry, but quality built machines have earned a good reputation and honor.
Automotive Wiesmann story began in 1985 when two brothers being in the showroom realized that the main disadvantage of all the machines – no stratification. In 1986, they were determined to have started the first phase of creating the car – chassis. A year later was ready their first Wiesmann Roadster.
In 1988 they opened their first factory and found some ready models of cars in Essen Motor Show.
In 1991 Wiesmann builds its factory in Telgenkamp, Dülmen, and 2 years later, the company is showing its first car: Wiesmann Roadster MF3.
The car had an engine and several other parts of the company BMW, this was associated with the great success of BMW cars. And to this day Wiesmann continues cooperation with BMW.
In 2005 the brothers released an improved model GT MF4, and in 2008, firmly engaged in the modernization of the plant in Telegenkamp Dulmen. It was built just a futuristic building, which has a non-standard architecture of steel and glass, with something vaguely resembling a gecko. The company calls it “the glass now.” With business development, going pretty well for the German automaker, the brothers decided to enter into the North American passenger car market in 2010.
Currently, the plant has just over 100 employees and are in no hurry to conquer the world.
