Volkswagen Company intends to start production of a three-wheeled model GX3. This was stated by the head of the Volkswagen brand, Wolfgang Bernhard. According to him, the company intends to sell the unusual vehicle in the United States under a new brand.
Conceptual three-wheeled GX3 was presented at the Auto Show in Los Angeles in January of this year. According to Volkswagen management, this vehicle allows to combine the advantages of motorcycles with car safety. It should be noted that to adjust driving performance serial GX3 is a British company Lotus. Volkswagen management does not hide the fact that GX3 – is a niche vehicle. Interestingly, as potential competitors are called quad bikes, snowmobiles, and other special vehicles, created primarily for entertainment.
If the decision on the production GX3 will be taken, the model may appear in 2007. The Volkswagen believe that the demand for an unusual car exceeds 10 thousand a year.
