Born October 21, 1973, Jaffa is a Canadian actor.
In 1980, together with his parents and brother Ilan, he moved to Montreal (Canada), where his father worked as an engineer and later headed the construction and energy company CEATI International Inc. Yakov Aleksandrovich Roiz, father of the actor, is a graduate of the Industrial Electronics Department at the Tomsk Institute of Radio Electronics and Electronic Engineering (1968).
After graduation, he studied history in college.
Before devoting himself to the acting profession, Sasha in his youth was actively involved in athletics and music. From 1996 to 1999, he was the drummer for the June-nominated Canadian indie rock band Tricky Woo.
His television acting career began in 2001, with participation in the TV series “Largo”. In 2003, Sasha was invited to play the role of one of the permanent characters, Stephen Lils, in the sports playhed playmaker “Playmakers” and he appeared in six episodes.
In 2004 he made his debut on the big screen – took part in the filming of the film “The Day After Tomorrow” with Jake Jillenhall and Dennis Quaid.
The following year, he starred in the films The Attack on the 13th Territory and Land of the Dead, and joined the cast of the television series Show Me Yours as Chaz Banks.
In 2006, he got a part in the catastrophe film “The Path to 9/11” and also starred in “Man of the Year” with Robin Williams and Christopher Walken.
In 2007, he won the lead role in the Canadian detective miniseries Across the River to Motor City, Sasha Roiz, played by insurance investigator Ben Ford, who had to investigate the disappearance of his beloved, flight attendant Katie Wilton.
In 2008, he played the role of Olympic champion Alex Baumann in the film “Victor: The History of Victor Davis”.
Over the next few years he participated, as a guest actor, in such well-known TV shows like “CSI: Miami”; “Trick me”; “Dr. House”; “Mentalist” and some others.
In 2009, he was casting for the role of the Tauron gangster Sam Adama, in the American science fiction TV series “Caprica”. The series lasted only one season and Sasha Royz starred in 17 of the 18 episodes.
In 2011, he joined the main cast of the television series Grimm, which premiered on October 28, 2011, on NBC.
In 2012, he played the role of Thomas Jacobs in the film “Extract,” which premiered on March 10, 2012.
