BIOGRAPHY
ROSE ARIANNA MCGOWAN
American actress.
She was born September 5, 1973 in Florence, Italy.
One of five children of a French-Irish writer and artist.
She spent her childhood traveling throughout Europe and has grown into a community of worship “Children of God” in which her father came back in Italy. To spite the atmosphere in which she grew up, even at an early age Rose never was fond of the movement “hippie” and did not take their lifestyle. When she was 10 years old, her parents divorced and Rose sent to live with his grandmother in Washington. Before that, she did not speak in English, and did not even know that the film and television in general exist. Her education at that time was limited to elementary grades, where children sat around and listened to the works of Kurt Vonnegut.
In 15 years, Rose legally freed from parental care and renounced their communities. Then she worked at a variety of jobs and often lied about his age to get them. She worked as a waitress, clerk, usherette and many other simple jobs. For a time she even had to live on the street.
She graduated from high school in 16 years, at 17 she began studying at art school in Seattle, and also studied at the beauty school.
Her first role was a small part of Nora in the film «Encino Man» in 1992. After that, she had to wait three years before returning to appear in the movie. It was Greg Araki film «Doom Generation» next film. Araki met her far away from the high school in Los Angeles, where she studied at the art school. Thanks to this role, in a dark and stylish film Araki, Rose earned a nomination for Best Young Actress in a «Independent Spirit Awards» 1996.
Although known for Rose came after more commercial films, such as “Biodome” and “Scream”, for the most part, she starred in the independent film.
After a successful debut, McGowan started acting at a standstill.
In 2001, Rose joined the cast of “Charmed” in the role of Paige.
