Raymond Burr (may 21 1917 — September 12, 1993) is a canadian-American actor, in the main, recognizable by her roles on television.
Life and career
Burr first career was on the Broadway stage, also starred in the movie where in the main played the role of villains. In 1956, he starred in the American interpretation of a Japanese “Godzilla” in a role of journalist Steve Martin. In 1985, he again played Steve Martin once modified American version of “Godzilla” in 1984.
Burr attained the most fame due to the implementation of a greater role in the long running series “Perry Mason” (1957-1966), which earned him two Emmy awards for best actor in a TV drama in 1959 and 1961. In 1960, Burr received his star on the Hollywood “walk of fame” for contribution to television. Burr also well-known due to the main role in the TV series “Ironside”, in which he starred from 1967 to 1975 and received 6 nominations for Emmy awards and two Golden globe. In the following years Burr starred in several short-lived series, and were faithful to their role of Perry Mason, which was performed in almost 30 made for television films in the period between the years 1985-1993.
About my personal life the actor is nothing the public did not. He said only that he was three times married and had offspring. His 1st wife, actress Annette Sutherland, died in 1943 — the plane on which she was flying was shot down by the Germans in Spain. 2nd marriage, to Isabel ward, was dissolved, and 3rd wife, Laura Adrina Morgan, died in 1955 from cancer. The offspring Berra, Michael Evan Burr, has died at the age of 10 in 1953. Raymond Burr was gay and since the mid 50-ies to the destruction was in a relationship with actor Robert Benevides. Burr was injured on the set of 1-th TV movies of Perry Mason in February 1993, and soon doctors found he has kidney cancer that has spread to the liver. On 12 September the same year the actor died and bequeathed all his property, estimated in the amount of 32 million dollars, own companion Benevides not included in the will relatives, including his sister and nephews.
