Biography
Petr Cech was born on May 20, 1982 in the modest town of Plzan (Czechoslovakia). Surprisingly, from early childhood, the future guard of the football gate was fond of hockey. His idol was the famous Dominik Hasek. And we would be happy now for the young goalkeeper of the Czech hockey team, if not for one “but”. Hockey uniforms were too expensive for his parents, and young Peter had to concentrate on football.

Even more surprising fact … Jiri Kraus, manager of FC “Victoria” (Plzan), said that Cech began his football career from the position of the left striker. But one day accidentally got in the gate.

Peter played for “Victoria” until 16 years old. In 1999, having distinguished himself at one of the youth tournaments in Amsterdam, he moved to the team “Hops” (Bizani).

Soon he was sold to the Prague “Sparta” for 700,000 euros. In “Sparta” talented goalkeeper set a national record, keeping the gate intact 855 minutes. The game in the Champions League also turned out very successful and “dry”.

In 2002, Cech was sold to the French “Rennes” for 5 million euros. The young keeper helped the average French club to keep a residence permit in the top division and reach the semi-final of the country’s Cup.

In February 2002, Petr Cech debuted in the national team in a match against the national team of Cyprus. Later, he brilliantly showed himself at the European Youth Championships-2002, where the Czech team unexpectedly took first place.

In the Euro-2004 qualifying matches we have a real master before us. The Czech Republic reached the main stage from the first place, ahead of the Dutch. In the 2010/11 England championship, Cech kept his goal intact for 3 games 85 minutes (355 minutes), conceding 33 goals in a season.

In the 2011/2012 season, Peter, along with Chelsea, won the UEFA Champions League gold medals. In the finals, his penalty team defeated the terrible “Bavaria”, Peter himself in overtime deflected a penalty Arjen Robben, and in the series of post-match took a penalty Ivica Olic.
