Michael Pitt is an American actor and musician. Most famous for his roles in the films “Dreamers”, “Nutty”, “Kill Count”, “Find Forrester”, “Mysterious Forest”.

Short biography
Born April 10, 1981 in New Jersey. Michael has two older sisters and a brother. As a child, the boy first dreamed of being a carpenter or artist, and after watching the movie “Lawrence of Arabia” he wanted to become an actor. At the age of sixteen, he had already left the parental home and moved to live in New York. At that time, he, along with a company of the same young people, rented a cheap apartment and worked as a courier. One day he was lucky, and he was accepted into the troupe of the New York theater workshop. Soon he graduated from drama school. Pitt’s other passion was music. He independently mastered playing the guitar and regularly rehearsed, and also composed lyrics and music.

In the late nineties, Michael debuted on the screen. At first, those were completely unnoticeable roles, such that his name was not even mentioned in the credits, but already in 2000, Pitt was lucky to play one of the roles in the cult director Gus Van Sant’s “Find Forrester” with Sean Connery and play in fifteen episodes of the popular TV series “Dawson’s Creek”. The following year, Michael was noted in the film “Hedwig and the ill-fated inch”, which tells about the life of an ambitious rock singer, whom in fact he was. The acting career rapidly gained momentum, and soon he began to receive more and more offers to participate in new projects. In 2002, Michael got a significant role in the thriller “Killing Countdown”, and a year later he played a major role in Bernardo Bertolucci’s melodrama “Dreamers”. In addition, along with his band for the soundtrack to the film, Pitt recorded the song Hey Joe. In the same 2003, with his participation, the pictures “Rhinoceros Eyes” and “Wonderland” were released on screens, and in 2004 such films as “Tiptoes”, “Mysterious Forest” and “The Temptation” were released. The most famous was the role in the biographical drama “The Last Days”, filmed by Gus van Cent based on the life of Kurt Cobain.

With the growing popularity, Pitt was offered exclusively key roles: in the drama “The Hawk Dies”, the comedy melodrama “Nutty”, the thriller “Funny Games”, as well as in the romantic melorama “Silk”, shot on the short story by Alessandro Baricco. In addition, in 2010, Michael began to play in the TV series “Underground Empire.”

In parallel with his acting career, Pitt leads and musical activities, being the leader of the group Pagoda, in which he plays the guitar and performs vocals. In 2007, their grunge debut album was released.
