Matt LeBlanc is an American actor who has played one of the most popular characters of the sitcom Friends. The actor has been nominated for Emmy four times, the same number for Golden Globe and received many awards from various TV channels.

Short biography
Matt LeBlanc was born on July 25, 1967 in Newton, Massachusetts. The ancestors of the actor – came from Italy, Germany, France and England. In most of his projects, Matt plays Italians. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional motorcycle racer, took part in competitions among teenagers. Cooling down to motorcycles, LeBlanc was fascinated with carpentry and even won an award at the Golden Hammer competition. However, over time, all children’s hobbies went by the wayside, until they finally forgot.

Back in school, Matt participated in the production of “Jesus Christ – Superstar”, and later decided to pursue an acting career. He starred in music videos and commercials, including the most famous brands: Coca-Cola, Heinz, Levi’s. Thanks to these commercials LeBlanc noticed producers. He was offered a role in the well-known “Married with Children” sitcom, and a couple of years later he was invited to the Friends project. The series has become a cult, brought Matt worldwide fame and provided him with stable work for many years.

In “Friends”, LeBlanc played an ordinary guy Joey Tribbiani, who constantly thinks about food and sex, but at the same time considers himself an artist and is waiting for the role that suits him. Joey does not have extra money, no decent education and permanent job. But all his failures are offset by an enviable popularity among women. Toward the end of the project, the hero Matt LeBlanc finally gets a role in the series “Days of Our Lives”. Six friends, the central characters of the sitcom, with each new season were complicated in terms of characters, revealed themselves from unexpected sides: thus, the actors were in full swing professional growth. This was noted not only by viewers, but also by critics. In total there were 236 episodes of Friends, and they were filmed for ten years. After the completion of the project, in the wake of its popularity, a sequel was released, named after the hero of LeBlanc – “Joey.” The new project has existed for two years. In total, the actor of twelve years did not part with the image of Joey Tribbiani.

Matt managed to shoot not only on television, but from time to time appeared in full-length tapes. So, in 1996, LeBlanc played a supporting character for Jack Cooper in the film “Ed.” In 2000, he took part in the popular project “Charlie’s Angels”, where he appeared as Jason Gibbons. The convincing performance of the role provided him a pass in the continuation of “Charlie’s Angels: Only Forward” (2003). In 2011, Matt played himself in the comedy series “Episodes.” Most recently, the movie “Sick of Love” was released, where the actor appeared Charlie Darby.

Since 2002, Matt has been nominated four times for the prestigious Emmy Award and Golden Globe. In 2005, he received the television prize “Choice of the People” as the most popular male star. The long-awaited Golden Globe LeBlanc took only in 2012 in the category “The best actor of the series in the comedy genre” for his role in the “Episodes”.
