Biography
In 2005, Kayan Douglas began studying Kundalini Yoga, confirming his interest in religion and healing. In early 2009, he first took part in the shooting – in the fourth episode of the first episode of the television series “10 Years Younger”.
Hugh Edward Douglas was born May 5, 1970 in Miami, Florida, USA. His childhood was spent in the cities of Tampa and Tallahassee. After graduation, Kayan moved to Dallas and began to study philosophy at Brookhaven College. At the same time, he became interested in religion and the art of healing. Then the future actor moved to Austin and began to study acting at the University of Texas, but was soon dismissed for lack of expressiveness and extreme shyness.
Later, Kyan Douglas moved to New Orleans, where he graduated from the University of Loyola, specializing in the production of television programs and theatrical research. After in 1996, three of his friends were killed during a robbery attack in a restaurant, Kayan decided to leave New Orleans.
In 1999, Douglas appeared in New York, where he worked for the cosmetic company “Aveda”. This company helped Kyan Douglas (Kyan Douglas) enroll in the Aveda Institute, a school of hairdressers and stylists, which he graduated with the highest score. After – he was recruited to the salon “Arrojo Studio” as a colorist. Then he got on television, worked in the show “What Not to Wear” and “While You Were Out” and led one of the headings in the magazine “Child Magazine”.
Since 2003, Kyan Douglas has appeared quite often on television, in such programs as Howard Stern, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Barbara Walters Special, “Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and others. He was given the nickname “Groom Strider”. In the same year he began to work as a permanent expert on the TV show “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” and in 2004 he won the Emmy Award – for participating in this show. In the same year, 2004, Kayan gave a master class for young specialists at the University of Loyola, where he had previously studied. Also, in 2004, he co-authored the book “Beautified” and became a consultant and representative of the company “L’Oreal”.
