2004 was not so successful. A revolutionary new model McLaren MP4-19 proved to be extremely unreliable and not very fast. Only in the middle of the season, the Grand Prix of France debuted a modification of the MP4-19B, and results Raikkonen began to improve. He took second place at Silverstone and won in Belgium, which allowed him to climb to seventh place in the championship.

The following season, the race pace of the Ferrari was not allowed Finn to consistently compete for the top places, and Kimi was able to win only one victory in the season – Grand Prix of Belgium.
