Julia Louis-Dreyfus has gained international recognition for her portrayal of Elaine Benes on NBC’s hit series Seinfeld, for her role as Christine Campbell in CBS comedy notes The New Adventures of Old Christine and recently in the role of Vice President Selina Meyer in the HBO series Veep. Considering all the programs in which he starred, he received three Emmy awards (out of 14 nominations), a Golden Globe (4 nominations), five Screen Actors Guild Awards® (of 11 nominations) and four American Comedy Awards (out of 8 nominations) .
He is currently filming the third season of the HBO series Veep directed by Armando Iannucci. It is a half-hour comedy that revolves around Selina Meyer, the new US Vice President. He recently voiced the new animated Disney movie Planes, a spin-off of the 2006 animated film Cars that talk of a spray plane who dreams of attending a famous air race but was blocked by the fear of heights.
Last December filed Picture Paris on HBO, a short film written and directed by Brad Hall, with the winner of the Cesar Award Eric Elmosnino. The short film follows the story of a common mother (Louis-Dreyfus) and to compensate for the lack of the son who left for college, meticulously planning a trip to Paris that will change her life. But things did not go as hoped and she wonders if perhaps what most desideramo, like passion, revenge, love and Paris itself, are really possible in everyday life. The film was presented this year in the London festival, Tribeca, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs.
His other television credits include appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm HBO, also created by Larry David of Seinfeld; a recurring role on The Simpsons by Matt Groening for the FOX, a recurring role on the critically acclaimed Fox series “Arrested Development,” the real-time sitcom NBC 2002 Watching Ellie and TNT Animal Farm animated film.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has left its mark on television in the three years (1982-1985) spent in Saturday Night Live alongside the likes of Billy Crystal personality, Christopher Guest and Eddie Murphy. He then presented the show twice, becoming the first woman in the cast to become presenter of the program. In 2014 she plays Eva in Nicole Holofcener’s film I say no more.
Louis-Dreyfus is committed to protecting the environment. Is part of the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC), the Heal the Bay and is an honorary member of Heal the Ocean. He studied drama at Northwestern University, where she graduated in 2007. During his college years he starred with the Practical Theater Company, and with the famous Chicago company, Secondhand City.
