John Goodman – American actor and producer who has played during his career of more than a hundred films and serials. Born June 20, 1952 in Nizhny Efftone, Missouri, USA.
Biography
Since childhood, John began playing in school productions, and in 1968 he first appeared on the big stage.
In 1970 he went to college, but after a while he moved to Missouri and moved to the South-West University. After graduating from college in 1975, John Goodman received a degree in acting skills. He then moved to New York, where he initially worked in the theater as a cook and was involved in children’s productions.
In 1978, the young artist was lit “Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the Broadway production. Later, in the nineties, he often played in Broadway musicals. Among the selected works by John critics on the scene – such plays as “Big River” and “Losing ends.”
Goodman’s film career started in 1977 with a role in the film of John Hayes «Jailbait Babysitter». Then he took part in such films as «The Face of Rage», «Eddie Macon’s Run», «The Survivors» and «Revenge of the Nerds .
Later on television screens went several series featuring the actor, including – «Chiefs», «Moonlighting», «Equalizer» and «Roseann».
In 1987 Coen brothers comedy came «Raising Arizona», which made John Goodman popular and well known. Creative Union of the Coen brothers and Goodman again and again reminded of itself.
The nineties were a period of flourishing film career of the actor. In 1990, he starred in horror Frank Marshall’s “Arachnophobia” , and in 1991 he appeared in two films: David Ward «King Ralph» comedy and the thriller Brothers Cohen «Barton Fink “.
