British actor.
Born in a small town in the north of England, it was his mother’s only sixteen when he was born, and his father never saw Jamie. In six years, Bell began studying ballet professionally, continuing his family’s tradition – linked with dancing life of his grandmother, mother, aunt and older sister. At 9 years old Bell decided to become an actor and goes to the local drama school, and only 12 will make its debut on the professional stage in the musical “Bugsy Malone” in London.
Stage experience, as well as the ability to dance helped Bella get around 2000 competitors and pass the casting for the lead role in Stephen Daldry, “Billy Elliot” (2000). For this role, he received a number of prestigious awards, including the prize of “outstanding young actor’s work” by the US National Council of Film Critics Award and a BAFTA.
