Biography
American film and theater actor.
Real name – Ernest Frederick McIntyre Bickel.
After graduation he began to work the bank’s employees, but soon strongly reconsider their attitudes, and in 1920 began to act in films in supporting roles as “Fredric March” (an abridged version of the mother’s surname – Mercerie). Since 1926, he also started getting roles in theatrical productions on Broadway and soon received a permanent contract with the studio Paramount Pictures.
In 1932, Fredric March won the “Oscar” for the dual title role in the film “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” for her role in “The Best Years of Our Lives” in 1946 he received his second statuette. Acted in such films as “life plans”, “Death takes a holiday”, “Les Miserables,” “Anthony’s unfortunate,” “A Star Is Born,” “Death of a Salesman,” “Inherit the Wind” and “The Iceman Cometh.”
In 1927 he married actress Florence Eldridge, which did not leave until the end of his days.
Fredric March awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
