Frederick Fred Hubbard Gwynne (born July 10, 1926 in New York City, USA) was an American actor and author.
life and work
Gwynne first went to the Navy after high school to serve as a radio operator on a submarine hunter in the Pacific. After his release, he took drama lessons and played for several years on different stages and in some television series.
The most famous role of the 1.96 meter Fred Gwynne was surely the Herman Munster in the TV series “The Munsters”. After the “Munsters” were deposed, Gwynne’s career got a kink, as many cast members believed him to be Herman Munster.
