American alternative/pop-punk band Fall Out Boy (FOB) was formed in 2001 in Wilmette Illinois, when quite experienced musicians bass player Pete Wentz and guitarist Joe Troman decided to start my own group. Soon Troman accidentally met Patrick Stump, who originally auditioned for the role of drummer, but then stood at the microphone stand because he had a good voice. But the drummers and rhythm guitarists for the first time quite often changed. The name was chosen in an interesting way – at the end of one of their first concerts, as yet unnamed FOB asked the audience to come up with a title to it. Someone asked them “Fallout Boy” – was the name of the companion comic book hero Radioactive Man from the animated series “the Simpsons.” In 2002, the band has produced two releases, the eponymous demo tape and a split album with the band Project Rocket. These records helped the group to significantly increase the number of fans.
In 2003, he released mini-album Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out with Your Girlfriend. At the same time occurred the last change of composition – the rhythm of the guitar picked up the stump, and for drums sat Andy Hurley. After signing with the label Fueled by Ramen, FOB, with the support of record label Island Records began to prepare their debut full-length album Take This To Your Grave, which came out in may of the same year. Sales were sluggish, but the number of fans, however, increased significantly. Stopping for concerts, FOB recorded and released in may 2004 their last release on be Fueled Ramen – the acoustic EP My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue, which debuted in the hit parade Billboard on the 153-th row. At the end of the year, the band started preparing material for a new album, which almost prevented the suicide attempt, Wentz. He passed a rehabilitation course, realized his mistake and returned to the rest of the musicians in the Studio. Album From Under The Cork Tree was released in may 2005 and immediately took the 9 th place the hit parade Billboard at 68, 000 sold in the first week of the disks. In the end, the album received double platinum for 2.5 million copies sold in the U.S. (about 3 million worldwide); such demand has spurred sales and the debut creations FOB, which eventually received a “gold” status. The single “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” also received a double platinum and videonaruto MTV, and the band was nominated for a Grammy in the category Best new artist. In support of their most commercially successful release FOB went to a large-scale tour and performed at various music festivals and has also received various music awards.
At the end of the tour, the musicians took a break, after which began working on a new album called Infinity on High and was released in early 2007 With this release FOB a little away from the usual pop-punk sound. Sales in the first week amounted to as much as 260 000 copies. The single “Thnks fr th Mmrs” received double platinum status and the album itself – only one platinum; worldwide sales reached 2 million copies, but the group managed to sell nearly 4.5 million songs in digital format. Next, the band went on tour, which in April 2008 was released live CD/DVD Live in Phoenix. In March, the FOB almost got into the Guiness Book, as a performer, who played on all continents of the globe, however, the scheduled concert in Antarctica was not held due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The new album Folie A Deux was released in December 2008 In the first week sales of 150,000 copies, and the disc itself rather quickly to gold status, but the commercial success of its predecessors failed to repeat that success, despite the recording of famous musicians. In the first half of 2009 FOB were active, including at the inauguration of us President Barack Obama. In November he published a collection of the best things Believers Never Die – Greatest Hits, containing in addition to the rare singles and new things. Then came the statement that FOB indefinitely ceases to exist, the musicians were able to engage in third-party projects. Troman and Hurley joined a metal super group The Damned Things, which also includes participants of Everytime I Die and Anthrax. The debut album – Ironiclast was released in late 2010, Hurley is also involved in several hardcore bands. Stamp released in October 2010 his debut solo album, Soul Punk, on which he recorded all instruments. Wentz for a short time joined the electronic project Black Cards and went into business.
