Biography
After finishing school, he enrolled in College of Kingston.
Edward always dreamed of becoming an actor; however, the first time after the Second World War he was a student in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, performing in parallel various roles in Amateur theatricals. For some time he planned to study to become a journalist; in the end, he found a place in the health service, and later settled in the Royal Academy.
Edward albert Arthur Woodward (Edward Albert Arthur Woodward, 1.06.1930 – 16.11.2009) is an English actor and singer, cavalier of the Order of the British Empire.
Woodward was the only son of working Edward Oliver Woodward and violet Edith Woodward (Smith). After finishing school, he enrolled in College of Kingston.

For some time he planned to study to become a journalist; in the end, he found a place in the health service, and later settled in the Royal Academy.
In the process of learning Edward was torn between profession and career of a professional footballer. He played well enough, but a knee injury knocked him out for the whole season; since then, the Woodward finally settled on an acting career. After graduating from the Royal Academy, he began performing in various productions, mostly Shakespeare in England and Scotland. Among his stage works, it should be noted musical Comedy ‘High Spirits’, received in the time three of the award ‘Tony’ and Comedy 1966 ‘The Best Laid Plans’.
On the silver screen Woodward made his debut in 1955 in the film adaptation of the play of Delderfield ‘Where There’s a Will’. Following were a series of small roles, and then Edward played the role of Sergeant Neil Howie in the Thriller ‘The Wicker Man’ 1973; the final scene of this film is still considered one of the greatest achievements of visual art in the history of cinema. The team filmed released in 2005, the year the remake of the film, Woodward was offered a cameo; the actor refused.
In 1980 Woodward played the title role in the Australian biopic ‘Breaker Morant’; the film was very warmly received by critics, especially to celebrate the game Edward. Died Edward Woodward in the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro on 16 November 2009, seventy-nine years. Even before the death of the actor was suffering from a number of different diseases, including pneumonia.
