Biography
Arjen Robben was born on January 23, 1984 in the Dutch town of Bedoum.
In the same city, 6-year-old Arjen started playing football, at the football school of the same name club “Bedoum”.
At the age of 12 Robben moved to the football school of the club “Groningen”, which in 2000 signed his first professional contract.
In his first season for “Groningen” Robben played 18 games, which scored just 2 goals, but thanks to a great game Arjen was named player of the club year.
Season 2001/2002 became more successful for Robben, he played for Groningen 28 games, almost all in the starting lineup, and scored 6 goals.
In the summer of 2002, the PSV football club bought Robben from Groningen for 3.9 million euros.
The first season in the “PSV” became very successful for Robben, he played almost in all matches of the championship of Holland and scored 12 goals, becoming the second scorer of the club in the season after Matej Kezman.
In the same season Robben played for the first time in the national team of Holland. His debut took place in a friendly match against Portugal, which ended with a score of 1: 1. In the same match, his first game for the team was conducted by Wesley Sneijder.

In the summer of 2009, in connection with the purchase of “Real” Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, Robben was put up for sale.
At the end of August 2009, it was acquired by the Munich “Bavaria”, with which he signed a 4-year contract.
In the first season for “Bavaria” Robben reached the final of the Champions League, became the winner of the Bundesliga and the German Cup, and was named the best player in Germany in 2010.
