Biography
Born August 18, 1978 in Berkeley, California, the son of a photographer and a teacher of elementary grades. His grandfather was the chairman of the American Jewish Congress. Since childhood, Andy – a fan of famous American TV show “Saturday Night Live” (1975) and showed him almost unhealthy interest in a boy watching the show, day and night thinking about the people who play there, and dreamed the same ever be together with them on the same stage. All this prevented the school, he was very absent-minded. In 1996, Samberg enrolled in school at the University of California at Santa Cruz. However, two years later he decided all the same to connect his life with the dramatic art and enrolled in film school at New York University. Another serious passion of a young man was the music. Together with his friends Jorma Tekkoun and Akiva Schafer, he created the comedy troupe The Lonely Island ( «Lonely Island”), which was successfully performed in New York. The trio also composes music for the show “Saturday Night Live.” In 2001, 23-year-old Samberg acted as a director and screenwriter, removing the short film “White Power” (2001), and then two more tapes: Awesometown (2005) and Regarding Ardy (2003).
