Alexander Ludwig is a Canadian actor who gained popularity due to his role in the film “The Rise of Darkness.”

Alexander Ludwig was born on May 7, 1992 in Vancouver, Canada. His father, Harold, is in business, and his mother, Charlene, is a manager. In addition to Alexander, the couple Ludwig raised three more children: the twins Natalie and Nicholas and the youngest daughter Sophia.

For the first time with the world of cinema, Alexander came into contact at the age of nine, albeit rather indirectly. He was invited to participate in a commercial project dedicated to the Harry Potter series of toys. The first film, in which Ludwig took part, came out a little later, in 2001. The boy played a tiny role in the family comedy “King of the Air: Champions League”. Then Alexander played one of the nameless children in the film “The King of the Snowboard” (2003) and the boy Kevin in the drama “Eve and Fire Horse” (2005). In 2005, the light saw the joint project of Canadian and American designers – the cartoon “Evil godmother: Jimmy’s Revenge,” where Alexander sounded the central character. In 2007, Ludwig could be seen in the episode of the children’s fantasy “Playground 3”.

In the same period, young actors were casting to take part in the adventure fantasy “The Rise of Darkness.” The selection turned out to be the toughest, but fifteen-year-old Alexander managed to get the coveted main role. He appeared as Will Will Stanton, an immortal fighter against evil forces. “Rise of Darkness” was the first serious work of a novice actor. After her, Alexander once again played the hero of the first plan (Seth) in the science fiction film “Witch’s Mountain” produced by the studio Walt Disney. The film is about the adventures of young brothers and sisters with paranormal abilities. Simultaneously with the filming of the full-length cinema, Alexander Ludwig worked on television. Many viewers have remembered it for the project “A little business called“ Murder ”and the TV series“ The Dead Zone ”.

In March 2012, the cinema screens featured the Hunger Games dystopia in the novel by Susan Collins of the same name. Alexander Ludwig appeared as one of the negative characters – Cato, the aggressive participant of the Games from the second District. The actor initially auditioned for the lead male role of Pete Mellark (District 12), but the creators prefer to take on Josh Hutcherson. Despite the inexperience in the incarnation of the villains, Ludwig coped well with the task, creating the image of a cold-blooded, well-trained killer. Unfortunately, his hero dies during the plot, so the actor will not be involved in the new films of the popular trilogy.

Then, in 2012, Alexander began work on creating his own music album. His song “Live it up” a year later was put on iTunes. In 2013, several films with the participation of Alexander Ludwig are expected on the screens: the comedy “Odnoklassniki 2”, the military action film “The Survivor” and the thriller “The Last Girl”.
