Alan Wolf Arkin was born in 1934 in a family of Jews who moved to the US from Russia and Germany. Father of the future actor, David I. Arkin, was an artist and a writer. Even as a child, Alan Arkin became interested in music and theater, with 10 years, he took lessons in acting craft.
