The story of redheaded Jedi Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a third-person adventure game from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games.

Set five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the game follows Cal’s increasingly desperate struggle with the Dark Side as the galaxy descends further into that same Darkness. Thrown to the edge of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by new and familiar threats. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal must endure the galaxy’s darkest times – but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his team, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?

The developers have tried to keep the formula that led to the success of the original, but at the same time improve it with an eye on the next generation of consoles and modern game design. There will be a fast movement system, several combat stances, the ability to use new weapons and forces on the fly. During the adventure, Cal will go to planets larger than in the original, be able to move around with the help of the environment, and so on. There will be both new heroes and those that appeared in the first part.

Some new information from the game director of the game.

In early December, at The Game Awards, we were shown gameplay footage of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orden, for the first time. Recently, the game director of the game, Stig Asmussen, gave an interview to Game Informer, from which we learned the following details:

• Cal now has five combat stances in his arsenal: for example, one will allow you to fight with two lightsabers that can be spun at high speed. Another stance will allow you to hold the sword and blaster at the same time. Another one will allow you to fight with a lightsaber with a protective guard, like Kylo Ren – in this stance, the character is slower, but deals increased damage.
• You can switch between racks. Each stance will help you deal more effectively with different types of enemies. The effectiveness of a particular stance must be found out in the battles themselves.
• In addition to the return of such characters as BD-1 and Cere Janda, new ones will appear in the game: for example, the mercenary Bode Akuna. She and Cal have a special bond, “almost like brothers”, complementing each other. Akuna will also be able to help in combat.
• There will be several additional mechanics of movement between locations. In the gameplay video, we can see how Cal fights while sitting on the mount.
