Biography
In the period from 1927 to 1952-th took part in 46 films, including some Hollywood films in the late 1930s and 1940s.
Annabella, real name Suzanne Georgette Charpentier, was born 14 July 1907, the year in La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire, Department of Val-de-Marne, France (La Varenne Saint Hilaire, Val-de-Marne, France).
The chance to try their hand in the movie came from Susan, when her father hosted a film producer. Thanks to guest Charpentier received a cameo role in the film in 1927, the first year. However, only French Comedy musical 1931 ‘Le million’ brought the actress out of the shadows and attracted the attention of critics, and over the next decade it approved for samoupravo cited as one of the most popular movie Actresses in France.
In 1936 Annabella won the official award of the Venice international film festival ‘Volpi Cup’ in the nomination ‘Best actress’ for the role it played in the war drama, Marcel L’herbier ‘Veille d’armes’.
The actress landed the lead female role in the British melodrama Harold D. Schuster, Glenn Tryon and ‘Wings of the Morning’ 1937, with the actor named Henry Fonda, and the success of this role led her to other Hollywood films. She also starred in American melodrama ‘Suez’ 1938 with Tyrone Power and Loretta Young.
Her romance with Power was the subject of discussion of various newsreels, and in 1939, Tyrone and Annabella had formalized their relationship. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1948-the year. The actress has adopted a girl named Anne, who later married actor Oskar Werner.
Before her marriage to Power, the actress was the wife of Albert Sorrento from 1930 to 1932, who left her a widow, and from 1934 to 1938 was married with the actor Jean Murat.
During the 1940s, Annabella began to take their positions, though, and played a leading female role – Suzanne de Beaumont – Thriller ’13 Rue Madeleine’ 1947 with James Cagney. In 1952 she last appeared on the set of a big movie – Spanish-drama ‘Quema el suelo’, in 1954 said goodbye to the viewers.
Annabella died from a heart attack in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine, France (Neuilly-sur-Seine, France), at age 89, and was buried in Passy Cemetery.
