Jim Broadbent – British film and theater actor.
Biography
Born May 24, 1949 in the English county of Lincolnshire. His father was a furniture craftsman, and his mother – a sculptor. Parents spare time playing in local amateur theater, located in an old Methodist Church.
Broadbent received his primary education at a boarding school in the city of Reading. For a while he studied at art school, and then he transferred to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Education Academy in the capital did not immediately bore fruit. After graduation in 1972, Jim Broadbent got a job as an assistant director in the theater in the open air in a local park. Working on a very modest position, Jim together a troupe, which included only two people – he and his friend Patrick Barlow, actor. The troupe, called “National Theatre of Brent,” sang a small comic pieces.
In 1976, Jim Broadbent played several roles in a series of performances by Ken Campbell, put on the novel by Robert Shea “Illuminate”. New actor drew the attention. He goes to the Royal National Theatre and later transferred to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
