Biography
Gene Wilder (born Jerome Silberman) was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the family of an immigrant from Russia William J.. Silbermann.
He started his career in amateur theater, on-screen debut in the film “Bonnie and Clyde” (1967). Gene Wilder became a popular actor, for his role in the cult classic comedy of Mel Brooks’ “The Producers” (1968), to further their cooperation continued.
In 1974, Wilder and Brooks co-wrote the screenplay for the film “Young Frankenstein” (nominated for an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay), and the Wilder played the role of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein.
