BIOGRAPHY
Australian actress.
Born on November 1, 1972 in Sydney, Australia, the son of Bob and Judy Collette (his father worked as a truck driver, mother – serving the Customer).
Besides it, in the family of the two brothers were born. At the age of eleven Tony bored feigned attack of appendicitis; doctors were so frightened that her appendix removed, despite the fact that the tests did not show anything dangerous.
Tony’s career in film began very quickly with the movie “Muriel’s Wedding”: Collette played in it at the age of 22 years, and it was only a third of her film, but critics and audiences in Australia were so impressed and conquered her heroine that for a role thick the fans of ABBA Toni Collette won the Prize of the Institute of Australian Cinema (main Australian film award) for best actress in 1994. This award Collette received a total of four times.
Hollywood breakthrough actress was the role of the boy’s mother, who sees dead people, in a mystical thriller “The Sixth Sense”, for which won the Tony in 1999 nomination for “Oscar” in the “Best Supporting Actress” category.
After this film, Tony appeared in several notable paintings, consistently receiving the highest accolades from critics both comedic and dramatic roles. The greatest recognition enjoyed her little (only one scene with Julianne Moore) the role of the perfect housewife Kitty Barlow intellectually hit 2002 “Watch.”
In 2006, Toni Collette starred in several films, most (box-office and critical) success of which was the family comedy “Little Miss Sunshine.”
January 11, 2003 she married Dave Gelefassi. January 9, 2008 they had a daughter, Sage Florence.
