Biography
Famous American actress and producer, participant of numerous films, winner of a large number of awards and nominations. The American is known for the role of Monica in the television series “Touched by an Angel”.
Roma Downey was born on May 6th, 1960 in Derry, Northern Ireland. From the earliest childhood, the actress dreamed of art and work in this field. Originally – more – she was fond of not theater and cinema, but painting. Roma wanted to become a professional artist.
Later, she studied at the College of Arts in England. She received a bachelor’s degree and had excellent chances to achieve her own goal. But one day her attention was drawn to the theater and theatrical productions. Downey began to attend the London Drama Center, where she soon began to participate in productions. The actress excellently showed herself in a variety of plays written on the works of Shakespeare, Shaw, Chekhov and other authors. Roma did not stand still and constantly improved. Critics noticed this and predicted great success for the Englishwoman in the future.
Indeed, after the actress moved to the United States of America, for her a period of luck began. Roma appeared on the Broadway scene and gained wide popularity with the American public.
Later, the actress worked, mainly in the United States of America. Once, thanks to her growing popularity, Roma got a role in one of the American television series. Later, Roma starred in a multi-series television series – “Touched by an Angel” and rose to a new wave of success. In the project, the actress was shot from 1994 to 2003. Soon, Roma was nominated for several awards, including television Emmy Awards.
Downey was married four times. The first marriages of the actress were short-lived and quickly disintegrated. The third was better than the others – from his marriage, Roma had a daughter who was born in 1996. Currently, the actress lives with a well-known businessman, television producer – Mark Burnett. Together with her husband, Roma travels the world, loves to go to Mexico. He lives with his family in Malibu. Today, the actress is happy – in the creative and in her personal life she is all right.
