Rebecca Louise Ferguson Sundstrom was born on October 19, 1983 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother Rosemary, British by birth, moved to Sweden at the age of twenty-five, where she met her father’s daughter, a Swede. However, their marriage broke up when the girl was still a child. From the age of six, Rebecca went to an English-language school, two years later she transferred to a Swedish secondary school.
