JULIA ELIZABETH WELLS
Born October 1, 1935 in the London suburb of Walton-on-Thames.
Debut on the stage – in 1947, in the Revue Wola Parnell “Starlight Roof” ( “starry sky”). In 1956, the American producers have acquired the rights to stage the musical Sandy Wilson’s “The Boyfriend” on Broadway, the young actress was offered the lead role – Polly Brown.
Execution of its role as Eliza Doolittle in the updated version of the play by George Bernard Shaw, “My Fair Lady” was a public success. Top authors wrote musicals “Camelot” and “Cinderella” especially for the young actress. In 1960, the actress was offered the role of Queen Genevry in Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “Camelot”, and she was successful couple Richard Burton (King Arthur) for almost a year and a half.
In 1997, Julie throat disease was discovered, and she had to undergo surgery as a result of which she lost her voice. Sing it could no longer, but actively worked in film and television.
In 1999, Britain’s Queen bestowed the title of Lady Julie Andrews.
