Judy Holliday (born Judy Holliday, 21 June 1921 -. June 7, 1965, real name Judith Tuvim.) – American actress, who won in 1950, the “Oscar” for best actress.
Holliday was born in New York in a family of Jews – immigrants from the Russian Empire. In December 1938, she translated his name into English as Tuwim Holliday and began performing in nightclubs as part of the comic quartet The Revuers. Despite the memorable role in the comedy “Adam’s rib” (1949), for the 1940 Holliday continued to work on Broadway. A particular success among its repertoire enjoyed the play “Born Yesterday”.
