Igor Akinfeev was born on April 8, 1986 in the town of Vidnoe near Moscow. Parents began to drive him to the first football training since four years. At the age of seven Igor joined the CSKA Moscow Sports School. In 2002, Akinfeev graduated from the CSKA football academy and signed a contract with the army club. In the same year Igor received a challenge to the junior national team of Russia.
In the Premier League, Akinfeev debuted on May 31, 2003. CSKA on the road met with the Samara “Wings of the Soviets” and won 2-0, and he reflected a penalty in the last minutes of the meeting with the club’s leader Andrei Karyaka.
