American actor.
Born November 3, 1957 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The son of scientists engineers. He grew up a weak boy with a whole bunch of different diseases, from chronic rhinitis to allergies. Hans Lundgren studied well and was going to follow in his father’s footsteps – to become a chemical engineer. The first makings of an athlete appeared in Lundgren when, according to him, he stumbled upon a book on karate and was literally absorbed in reading. Signing up for karate school, at first just splashed out all the anger that had accumulated over the years of mockery at it by classmates. Lundgren found his ideal, came up with the pseudonym Dolph, and became his own doctor. He tore and metal, but then, apparently cooling off his ardor, he began to study Japanese martial art more deeply and made tremendous progress, getting a black belt at fourteen, and at seventeen – winning the Swedish championship. A year later, he won the title of European Champion.
He studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, then at the University of Washington, in 1982 he graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia with a master’s degree in chemical engineering. Then Dolph Lundgren received a Fulbright scholarship and studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dolph Lundgren in 1983 in New York met a drama teacher Warren Robertson and decided to try himself as an actor.

The powerful figure of the champion was noticed and appreciated by the famous pop singer Grace Jones, with the move suggesting Lundgren to be her personal bodyguard during an Australian tour. Dolph, with the imperturbability of Superman, accepted her proposal unaware that it was from this step that his rapid ascent to the new Olympus, the cinematic one, would begin.

The continuation of the story became public and brought Dolph extravagant fame. The love relationship between a cold-blooded Swede and a sultry Negro woman not only attracted the attention of the media, but also opened the door for Lungren to a brilliant Hollywood team and the right people. He made his debut in 1985 in the James Bond film “View of the murder.” The episodic role of Dolph then almost no one noticed.

Moving to New York, Lundgren signed up for an acting class and so went to school that he even quit the competition. But Dolph did not give up training, trying to keep in shape.

In 1985, Dolph Lundgren appeared in the role of an unforgettable Russian beast – boxer Ivan Drago in the movie “Rocky 4”, followed by many other equally “unforgettable” roles.
The films did not shine with a special variety, and instead of a qualitative growth, the lone hero only increased the list of his exploits.

Next in the career of Dolph came the “black band”. Several films in a row where he played the lead role (“Joshua Tree” and “Men of War”) failed at the box office. Lundgren’s fans were disappointed – not a trace was left of his huge muscle mass. Dolph made the appropriate conclusions and in 1995 he returned as an invincible fighter-athlete in the film “Shooter”. And participation in the super-militant “Under the Sight” reaffirmed Lundgren in the role of an action film star.

In 1987, Dolph Lundgren released the Maximum Potential sports video course, and in 1996 he was appointed captain of the US Olympic team in pentatlon. Lundgren is also one of the founders of the G8 Theater Group (New York).

In 1997, Dolph Lundgren founded the Tor Pictures film company, and in 1998 he made his debut as executive producer of the film Pentatlon.
