Catherine Deneuve (born Catherine Deneuve.) – The legendary French film actress. Catherine Deneuve was born October 22, 1943 in Paris in the family of Maurice Dorléac Deneuve and Renee.
Biography
Catherine film debut took place in 1957. It was a picture of «Les collégiennes» (the girls). But the talent of the young actress began to speak after her role in the film «Le vice et la vertu» (Vice and Virtue). And Catherine Deneuve was invited to play in a film by Jacques Demy «Les parapluies de Cherbourg» (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg). This musical drama in 1964 brought the young Catherine international fame and recognition. The tape was awarded the main prize at the Cannes Film Festival – “Golden Palm”.
In the same year at the pictures we noticed directors, which has become legendary, the French “new wave”. Prior to this young actress starred in such film directors as Andre Yunnebelya and Marc Allegre, which ranked as “Dad’s cinema.” And in 1964, Deneuve plays in the anthology «Les plus belles escroqueries du monde» (The most beautiful swindlers in the world), the novel for which removed such renowned directors as Jean-Luc Godard, Claude Chabrol and Roman Polanski. Last Deneuve even invited to take part in his next project – «Repulsion» (Aversion). The tape was released in 1965 and received two awards at Berlin Film Festival: Special Jury Prize and the Prize of the International Film Critics Association.
In 1966 he published a tape of Jean-Paul Rappno «La vie de château» (Life in the castle), which opened comedic talent Catherine Deneuve. And in 1969 Catherine was fortunate enough to star in the movie, François Truffaut’s «La sirène du Mississipi» (Siren “Mississippi”), together with the sex symbol of those years, Jean-Paul Belmondo. Another landmark work of Catherine became the band in 1970 «Tristana» (Tristan).
In the nineties the Catherine Deneuve all as in films radical filmmakers. In 1999, she played in a provocative picture of Leo Carax «Pola X» (Pola X), where nude shot (and it’s 56 years old!). In 2000, there was a film by Lars Von Trier «Dancer in the Dark» (Dancer in the Dark) with Catherine Deneuve and Björk, who won the main prize at the Cannes Film Festival – “Golden Palm”.
