Date of Birth: June 22, 1964
Brenneman was born in New London, Conn. Her mother was a judge, and his father was a lawyer. She grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut, where she began performing in local theater. She graduated from Harvard University in 1987.
Brenneman made her debut in 1992 in an episode of the series “Murder, She Wrote.” A year later, she has achieved national recognition for it created the image of Janice Likasli detective in the television series “NYPD Blue.”
In 1995, she appeared in the film “Casper” and “Real”, and a year later played the lead female role in the movie “Daylight” with Sylvester Stallone. She also starred in “Fear” films, “Nevada”, “Your Friends & Neighbors,” “Suburbia” and “Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her.” She returned to television as a guest star in four episodes of the comedy series “Frasier” in 1998.
In 1999, Brenneman has acted as the creator, producer and performer of the title role in the TV series “Judging Amy.” The show was based on the real life of her mother, Frederica Brenneman. The series went on CBS for six seasons: from September 19, 1999 to May 3, 2005, steadily gathering high ratings, and Brenneman received three nominations for the “Golden Globe” for best actress in a television series – drama, as well as three nominations “Emmy”.
Brenneman won the award “Film Festival in Locarno” in the “Best Actress” category for her role in the film “Nine Lives” in 2005. She later starred in “The Jane Austen” (2007) and “88 Minutes” (2008). In June of 2013, Brenneman was invited to the main female role in the HBO series channel «Left».
